Step into a magical world where art, nature, and imagination come together. Mud Buddies: Play in Process is an immersive sensory play experience inviting children to paint, build, weave, discover, and create at their own pace. There are no instructions, no finished product, and no right or wrong way to play. Instead, children are encouraged to follow their curiosity, experiment with a wide range of open-ended materials, and help transform the space throughout the festival. Hidden surprises, collaborative artworks, and ever-changing installations ensure every visit feels a little different. Designed for children of all abilities, Play in Process celebrates creativity, exploration, and the joy of making, reminding us that the most meaningful art is often found in the process, not the product.

Soft background music can be played quietly to help create a calm setting. If the space gets busy or feels overwhelming, or if it helps participants feel more comfortable, the music will be turned down or switched off.

The hub has hands-on creative and sensory activities for children to try at their own pace. There is no set schedule or strict instructions, so kids can explore, create, watch, and move between activities whenever they want. Drawing is available as an open-ended option. Children can also choose to build with loose parts, recycled materials, or natural objects, but there is no pressure to finish or make anything specific. Everyone is encouraged to join in however they like, based on their own interests and abilities. Painting is another creative choice, but there are plenty of other sensory and creative experiences for children who prefer not to paint.
