That’s what you’ll experience at Barking Gecko’s Sleepover. The Sleepover is an exclusive event that will take you and your children behind the scenes at the State Theatre Centre of WA, through the passages, stairways and onto the Heath Ledger stage! Who knows, you might even see a ghost!

The Geckos have an unforgettable evening planned of fabulous games and activities to make you laugh and have fun on stage. WA’s premier theatre venue for one awesome evening will be all yours for you to play in, dream and wonder at…

Camp Out. Stay In. We’ll have plenty of refreshments and sweet treats, storytelling and music before settling in for the night to sleep on stage, but still under the stars…

Sleepover is your chance to make memories that will last a lifetime! Plus you’ll be supporting Barking Gecko Theatre Company to continue creating its award winning theatre. Barking Gecko’s Sleepover is Perth’s most unique fundraising event and we’d love for you to join us.

Tickets are just $100 pp. for a whole evening of joyful exploration, refreshments and mementos – a city staycation could cost you $270 just for a hotel room!

Venue:            On the Stage of the Heath Ledger Theatre at the State Theatre Centre of WA
Ages:               8-16 accompanied by an adult
Cost:               $100 per person

 

WHAT WILL WE BE DOING?

On arrival, you will be welcomed into the State Theatre Centre of WA for an orientation and safety briefing. And then the fun begins! You will join in an evening of behind-the-scenes exploration, storytelling, stagecraft, makeup and your very own stage appearance under lights before slumbering down on the stage of the Heath Ledger Theatre to sleep … perchance to dream.

 

WHAT SHOULD WE BRING? AND WANT SHOULD WE NOT BRING?

Please bring:

  • a sleeping bag
  • a pillow
  • a floor mat (thin foam mattress, yoga mat or self inflatable with no pumps)
  • a toothbrush and toothpaste
  • a torch
  • any required medications
  • optional – eye shades, water bottle, ear plugs

Please do not bring items of financial or sentimental value or items that require an electrical plug (including mattress pumps and chargers).

 

DO WE BRING PYJAMAS to CHANGE INTO?

No. Please arrive in layered, comfortable clothes that you can sleep in.  This is precaution in case of the unlikely event of evacuation.

 

DO WE BRING FOOD?

Please arrive on Friday evening at 7.00pm having already eaten dinner.

You may wish to bring a water bottle.

An evening snack will be provided on Friday night and a light continental breakfast on Saturday morning.

HOW DO WE GET TO THE STATE THEATRE CENTRE OF WA?

The State Theatre Centre of WA is located on the corner of William Street and Roe Street, at 174-176 William Street Perth WA 6000.

Public Transport: The State Theatre Centre is located a short walk across the road from Perth Railway Station and Roe St Bus Station.

Car Parking: The closest 24hr access is the City of Perth Citiplace Car Pak, 1 Roe St (approximate rate $32). There are various other car parks located nearby including the City of Perth State Library Car Park with access from Francis St and the City of Perth Cultural Centre Car Park at 2 Roe St. These are not 24 hours car parks but will reopen at 6am on Sunday morning.

 

ADULT SUPERVISION & PARTICIPATION

Each child must be accompanied by an adult guardian, with one adult guardian supervising a maximum of three children. Adults are responsible for the supervision of their children at all times.

If you have a child with special needs, please advise us in advance so we can best support their participation in this event.

The Sleepover experience is designed for everyone, young and old, to join in and have fun together!

 

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

This is a fundraising event for Barking Gecko Theatre Company. There will be no refunds on cancellations. However, your booking can be transferred to another person as long as all other conditions of attendance including age limits and required adult supervision are adhered to. Please advise Barking Gecko Theatre Company of any changes to guest attendance (including names, ages and contact details) in advance.
