UNLOCKING ACCESS
In 2025 Barking Gecko is proud to launch our Access School Touring Program intended to bridge the current access gap to high quality arts programs. By bringing our productions directly to schools and school communities, we ensure that children unable to travel to the city can still enjoy live theatre, making our programs more inclusive and accessible to everyone.
We are proud to announce Keystart as our inaugural Access Partner enabling us to roll out this program to the five outer metropolitan areas; City of Kwinana (Koorliny Performing Arts Centre confirmed), City of Gosnells (Don Russell Performing Arts Centre confirmed), City of Kalamunda (Kalamunda Performing Arts Centre confirmed), City of Joondalup and City of Cockburn.
CEO of Keystart Mark Tomasz announced, “Keystart is excited to continue our support for Barking Gecko and the launch of the inaugural Access Touring Program. This partnership will bring the magic of theatre directly to children in their own communities, making the arts more accessible. We’ve proud to have partnered with Barking Gecko since 2020.
We share some common goals with Barking Gecko; we’re both passionate about removing barriers. At Keystart, we enable people to overcome obstacles to homeownership. Similarly Barking Gecko ensures more people can access and experience the transformative power of the arts.”
