About the Workshop

What if you were given the opportunity to walk in the shoes of the most incredible people that ever lived?

Who would you choose? Ada Lovelace? Barack Obama? William Shakespeare? Maybe even Elvis Presley?

Over three fun-filled days, our young participants will explore the characters of great men and women from all walks of life. Along the way they’ll develop vocal, physical and improvisation skills and make a bunch of new friends. All levels of experience are welcome to join us for this joyful drama workshop led by Mararo Wangai. Come along and feel what it’s like to take ‘A Walk in Their Shoes’.

 

 

Meet our Teaching Artist – Mararo Wangai

Mararo Wangai is an experienced playwright, actor and devisor, passionate about the strength and importance of story telling. Mararo has worked extensively in Western Australia with likes of The Last Great Hunt, Stages WA, Australian Theatre for Young People and Black Swan State Theatre Company. As the newest addition to Barking Gecko’s Teaching Artist team Mararo’s approach to teaching takes on quite a physical dimension and places focus on the ideas and creativity brought by the participants.
